A World Wide Book: Charles Jencks and the Language of Post-Modern Architecture, 1977–1991

In 2020, Léa-Catherine Szacka was awarded a Mid-Career Fellowship from the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art for her project, ‘A World Wide Book: Charles Jencks and the Language of Post-Modern Architecture, 1977–1991’. In this film produced by the Paul Mellon Centre, Szacka shares her research which draws from material in the Archive and Library of The Cosmic House, designed by Charles and Maggie Jencks.

Szacka is a Senior Lecturer in Architectural Studies at University of Manchester. Her work focuses on the history of architecture exhibitions, the history and theory of Post-Modern architecture, and, more broadly, the relationship between media and architecture since the 1970s.
